Who we are

Lyanak Educational Practice ("we", "us") is the online courses business of Lyanak Consulting. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the website, answer enquiries and sell courses:

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, optional phone number, the course you are interested in and your message.
  • Purchases: your name, email address, the course bought and the payment status. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure payment page. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: basic information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, held in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
  • Preferences: your cookie choice and light or dark theme choice, stored in your own browser (see our Cookies page).

We do not use your details for marketing unless you tell us you would like to hear from us, and we do not sell your data.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe, to process payments and send receipts.
  • Our website host and email provider, who store the site and deliver our emails.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it.

These providers act on our instructions or under their own data protection duties. Some may process data outside the UK, in which case we rely on approved safeguards such as UK adequacy rules or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • Orders and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Server logs: up to 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or move it to another provider. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Keeping your data safe

We use HTTPS, restricted admin access and trusted providers to protect your information. No online service is completely secure, so please take care with what you send us.

Children

Our courses are for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
